Abstract

Car alarm CA1 upon detecting an intrusion operates a control circuit 2 which activates a voice message circuit 3 and a cell phone 4 via call button 4.1. The voice message circuit 3 provides a user defined warning message through the cell phone microphone 4.2 which is sent via a cellular network to the owners phone, fax machine or PC. The warning information may be sent in the form of text, e-mail, photo or video data.

Description

CELL ALARM 1 Description The invention relates to a car alarm system, that incorporates a cell phone and control circuitry to provide it with the ability to send distress information, to a recipient via the cellular network; when the vehicle, or where fitted is being tampered and the alarm Is triggered.
Car alarms are well known, but suffer from disadvantage that, they are unreliable in that when they are triggered, onlookers often ignore them, and the owner is usually unable to hear them.
By adding a cell phone and control circuits to the alarm system, this is vastly overcome.
When the alarm is triggered, the cell phone sends a distress call immediately, notifying the owner of the impending threat allowing them to take appropriate actions, this is also invaluable for the disabled, namely the deaf.
An object of this invention, is to provide an alarm system, namely a car alarm, with the ability to communicate directly with the owner and warn them of the intrusion Accordingly, the alarm system comprises; an alarm to sense the intrusion, a circuit to control the flow of power to a relay that activates the call button on the cell phone, a voice message circuit to convey an audible warning via the cell phone mic, and the cell phone to incorporate the presets of which are transmitted via a suitable cellular network Preferably the alarm system is made of plastic and metal or materials that are derived from these elements.
Preferably the alarm system can be modified to allow for various upgrades, following is a few examples of which may be considered : Visual confirmation of alarm/cell system status.
Audio confirmation of alann/cell system status.
Adjustment of alarm/cell system by alternative means, e. g. push button, infrared.
Data downloading of alarm system to recipient via cell phone, of which, may contain photo imaging or tracking co-ordinates.
Auto arm of alarm system, if vacant over preset period.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described, with reference, to the accompanying drawing in which : Figure 1 shows a block diagram of the alarm system components.
Figure 2 shows an example of the components in picture form.
Figure 3 shows an example of the components and their electrical connections.
As shown in figure 3, the car alarm, CAI has a negative output of300ma when triggered. Connected to the control circuit 2 along with a constant 12v positive, by means of wires suitably colour coded and fuse protected, as do the other circuits. The supply power from the alarms output operates the control circuit 2, which activates the voice message circuit 3 and the cell phone 4 call button 4.1 by means of relays that switch on the relevant circuit. The voice message circuit 3 sends a warning message through the cell phone 4 microphone 4.2 repeating at a timed interval, the message of the voice message circuit 3 may be changed or manipulated to suit the owner's needs. The cell phone 4 when activated uses the cellular network via its antenna 4.3 sending the preset information to the owners phone, fax machine pc or other. The cell phone 4 and alarm CAI both have a backup power source 5, which is charged using the alarms CAI circuitry.
