Abstract

A method of notifying a telephone subscriber of telephone numbers of incoming calls, which utilizes an informing device (1) to connect a telephone set (2) of the telephone subscriber to a public switching telecommunication network (PSTN) (3) to pickup telephone numbers of incoming calls and then dials the number of a communication device (4) preset by the telephone subscriber to notify the telephone subscriber of the telephone numbers of the incoming calls, thereby preventing the telephone subscriber from missing any incoming calls.

TITLE : A METHOD OF NOTIFYING A TELEPHONE SUBSCRIBER THE TELEPHONE NUMBER OF AN INCOMING CALL IN TIME BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention This invention is related to a method of notifying a telephone subscriber of telephone numbers of incoming calls and in particular to one which can

notify the telephone subscriber of telephone numbers of incoming calls when he or she cannot receive the calls.

2. Description of the Prior Art It has been found that when a telephone subscriber has gone out or cannot answer phone calls because of certain reasons, the telephone subscriber cannot know in time if there has been any incoming calls or who has called, thereby often making the subscriber miss the timing of important phone calls.

Therefore, it is an object of the present invention to provide a method of notifying a telephone subscriber of telephone numbers of incoming calls in time, which will notify the telephone subscriber of the telephone number of incoming calls via voice or data by means of dialing the number of a communication device, for example a mobile telephone, a pager, etc. , preset by the telephone subscriber, thereby preventing the telephone subscriber from missing any calls and the timing of the calls.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION This invention is related to a method of notifying a telephone subscriber of telephone numbers of incoming calls in time and in particular to one which can notify telephone numbers of incoming calls when he or she cannot receive the phone calls.

It is the primary object of the present invention to provide a method of notifying a telephone subscriber of telephone numbers of incoming calls, which utilizes an informing device to connect the telephone set of the telephone subscriber to a public switching telecommunication network (PSTN) to pick up telephone numbers of incoming calls and then dials the number of a communication device preset by the telephone subscriber (such as a mobile telephone, pager,..... etc. ) to notify the telephone subscriber of the telephone numbers of the incoming calls in time.

The aforesaid informing device makes use of voice or data to notify the telephone subscriber through a communication device such as mobile phones, pagers or commonly used telephone sets.

The informing device will be electrically linked to a telephone set for setting the number of the communication device by the key buttons of the telephone set.

Furthermore, the informing device may be built into a telephone set.

In addition, the informing device may be set so that the telephone subscriber will be notified of telephone numbers of all incoming calls even if the calls have been received.

The foregoing objects and summary provide only a brief introduction to the present invention. To fully appreciate these and other objects of the present invention as well as the invention itself, all of which will become apparent to those skilled in the art, the following detailed description of the invention and the claims should be read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. Throughout the specification and drawings identical reference numerals refer to identical or similar parts. Many other advantages and features of the present invention will become manifest to those versed in the art upon making reference to the detailed description and the accompanying sheets of drawings in which a preferred structural embodiment incorporating the principles of the present invention is shown by way of illustrative example.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT For the purpose of promoting an understanding of the principles of the invention, reference will now be made to the embodiment illustrated in the drawings. Specific language will be used to describe same. It will, nevertheless, be understood that no limitation of the scope of the invention is thereby intended, such alterations and further modifications in the illustrated device, and such further applications of the principles of the invention as illustrated herein being contemplated as would normally occur to one skilled in the art to which the invention relates.

With reference to the drawings and in particular to FIGS. 1 and 2, the present invention comprises an informing device 1 which is connected between a telephone set 2 and a PSTN (public switching telecommunication network) 3, so that the subscriber of the telephone set 2 can link the informing device 1 to set the number of a communication device 4 (mobile phone 41, pager 42 or commonly used telephone set 43) by the key buttons of the telephone set 2. When the subscriber of the telephone set 2 has gone out or cannot answer an incoming call, the informing device 1 will pick up the telephone number of the incoming call and will immediately dial the number of the communication device 4 to notify the subscriber of the telephone number of the incoming call via voice or data, thereby preventing the

subscriber from missing any incoming call in time.

Referring to FIG. 3, the operation of the present invention is described as follows: 1. Pre-setting the number of the communication device in the informing device; 2. When the telephone subscriber cannot receive an incoming call, the informing device will pick up the telephone number of the incoming call.

3. Then, the informing device will dial the number of the communication device immediately.

4. The subscriber is notified of the telephone number of the incoming call by the communication device.

If the communication device is a mobile phone or commonly used telephone set, the communication device will notify the subscriber of the telephone number of the incoming call via voice. If the communication device is a pager, the communication device will notify the subscriber of the telephone number of the incoming call via data. Of course, the communication may also transmit a short message service to the display of the mobile phone of the subscriber. Further, the communication device may be built into the telephone set of the subscriber, or built in the system in the public

switch of the PSTN carrier.

The aforesaid informing device makes use of voice or data to notify the telephone subscriber through mobile phones, pagers or commonly used telephone sets. The informing device will be electrically linked to a telephone set for setting the number of the communication device by the keybuttons of the telephone set, and built into the telephone set. Furthermore, the informing device may be combined with a telephone set. In addition, the informing device may be set so that the telephone subscriber will be notified of telephone numbers of all incoming calls even if the calls have been received.

It will be understood that each of the elements described above, or two or more together may also find a useful application in other types of methods differing from the type described above.

While certain novel features of this invention have been shown and described and are pointed out in the annexed claim, it is not intended to be limited to the details above, since it will be understood that various omissions, modifications, substitutions and changes in the forms and details of the device illustrated and in its operation can be made by those skilled in the art without departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention.

Claims

I CLAIM : 1. A method of notifying a telephone subscriber of the telephone number of an incoming call in time comprising steps of : utilizing an informing device to connect between the telephone set of a subscriber and the public switching telecommunication network (PSTN) ; picking up telephone number of an incoming call ; dialing a preset number of a communication device; and notifying said subscriber of the telephone number of said incoming call via voice or data.
2. The method of notifying a telephone subscriber of the telephone number of an incoming call as claimed in claim 1, wherein said informing device is an independent device.
3. The method of notifying a telephone subscriber of the telephone number of an incoming call as claimed in claim 1, wherein said informing device is built into the said telephone set of said subscriber.

The method of notifying a telephone subscriber of a telephone number of an incoming call as claimed in claim 1, wherein said informing device is electrically linked to the telephone set of said subscriber for setting said number of said communication device by the key buttons of the telephone set..
5. The method of notifying a telephone subscriber of the telephone number of an incoming call as claimed in claim 1, wherein said informing device is built in the system of the public switch of the PSTN carrier.
