Abstract

The keyboard includes keys wherein individual keys thereof are each completely surrounded by LEDs. The LEDs are disposed adjacent to each side of an individual key of the keyboard. The LEDs derive power from the battery or power unit which supplies the keyboard. The LEDs may vary in colour. The arrangement may be used for the keyboards of laptop computers, notebook computers, palmtop computers, PCs or other hand held computers/devices.

Description

Description: Title The ability to use electronic keyboards/pads in light deficient environments.
Current Situation: Currently portable electronic devices, which have some from of keyboard/key pad. used for inputting information and a screen for displaying information E. g.
Laptops, Notebooks.
PCs, Palmtops, Hand-held computers that close like laptops And handheld electronic computers/devices are unable to be used in areas where natural or artificial light is at a premium or nonexistent as the light from the screen is inadequate to allow the user to see the keys and hence the characters on the keyboard or keypad.
Invention This invention allows the use of equipment that uses any power supply be it battery operated or ran from the electrical supply which uses a keyboard/pad be it numeric and/or alphabetic and/or punctuational and/or any other type.
To be used in areas where natural light or artificial light is at a premium or non existent.
The manner in which this is done is outlined in the next sub-section: Invention The keys on a keypad/keyboard are lit by light from LEDs that surround each key, the keys and the characters are modified to accommodate the LEDs. Such an invention would be applicable to denices such as: -Laptops -PCs -Palm tops -Hand held devices that close like laptops and Palmtops.
-Hand held devices that do not close.
The power for the LEDs. which are placed around the keys on the keyboards, will be derived from the power supply that runs the device. Also the colour of the LEDs may vary.
These LEDs are to be placed so to surround the key and hence allows its light to light up the keys on the keyboards, see diagram 1.
In diagram 1 the LED surrounds each key the actual location of the LED will depend on each individual type of keyboard/keypad of the device in question.
This invention would be applicable to devices such as bit not limited : -Laptops -PCs -Palm tops -land held denices that close like the above devices.
-Hand held computers Thetee;scanbemadeinthefh))nw)nga.
This invention will allow the use of the above named devices in light deficient areas more effectively.

Claims (1)
