Abstract

A solenoid valve in the fuel supply is energised only by a predetermined operation of vehicle controls, e.g. lights, heater, horn, indicators, reverse switch etc. Incorrect procedure results in a fuse being blown or opening of a miniature circuit breaker.

Description

FUEL RESTICTOR, THEFT DETERANT THIS INVENTION RELATES TO THE CONTROL OF FUEL (EITHER LIQUID OR GAS), TO AN ENGINE ON A VEHICLE.
THE REASON FOR THE INVENTION IS TO ENABLE THE OWNER, OR AUTHORISED USER, TO RESTRICT THE FUEL SUPPLY TO THE ENGINE, BY MEANS OF A START UP PROCEDURE CONTROLLED FROM THE DRIVING POSITION.
WITHOUT THE CORRECT PROCEDURE, THE ENGINE MAY START, BUT WILL ONLY RUN FOR A LIMITED TIME BEFORE APPEARING TO HAVE RUN OUT OF FUEL.
'rHIS CONTROL IS OBTAINED BY USING EXISTING CONTROLS AVAILABLE TO THE DRIVER (IE: LIGHTS, HEATER, HORN, INDICATORS, REVERSE SWITCH, ETC), AND AN ELECTRICALLY CONTROLLED SOENOID VALVE, INTERFACED BY THE ELECTRONICS SHOWN IN THE CIRCUIT DIAGRAMS.
ONCE INSTALLED IN A VEHICLE, THE AUTHORISED USER WOULD, BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO START THE ENGINE, GO THROUGH THE START U? PROCEDURE. THIS HAVING BEEN DONE, THE VEHICLE WOULD START AND BEHAVE NORMALLY.
IN THE EVENT OF THE START UP PROCEDURE NOT HAVING BEEN FOLLOWED THE VEHICLE MAY START, BUT WILL ONLY RUN FOR A LIMITED TIME BEFORE APPEARINO TO HAVE RUN OUT OY FUEL.
THE IGNITION WOULD HAVE TO BE TURNED OFF, AND THE START UP PROCEDURE INITIATED.
IN IHE EVENT OF THE WRONG START UP PROCEDURE BEING USED, THE FUSE OR MCB IN THE SYSTEM W1LL BLOW. THE VEHICLE WILL STILL START AND RUN FOR A LIM1TED TIME, BUT THE EN(iNE WIL NOW NOT START EVEN WITH THE CORRECT PROCEDURE UNLESS THE FVSE IS REPLACED OR THE MCB RESET.
CIXCBIT DRAWINO 1 SHOWS THE CIRCUIT FOR POSITIVE EARTHED VEHICLES, AND CIRCVIT DRAWING 2 SHOWS THE CIRCUIT FOR NEGATIVE EANTHED VEHICLES.
THE FOLLOWING IS A KEY TO THE CIRCUIT DRAWINGS: 10-SOLENOID VALVE IN FUEL LINE 11-CDNNECTIONS TO AUXTLARY SWITCHES DISABLING THE CIRCUIT 12-REPLACABLE PUSE OR RESETTABLE MCB 13-SUPPLY FROM IGNITLON SWITCH 14-EARTA CONNECTION 15-CONNECTION TO CONTROL ENABLING SYSTEM TO WORK 16-VISUAL DISPLAY INDICATING FUSE OR MCB HAS BLOWN 17-DPCO RELAY
