Abstract

The interrupter detects incoming television signals carrying a specific bar coding to interrupt the incoming signal and render the screen blank. Strategically placed bar coding can allow owners to omit scenes of violence and obscenity. The interrupter is powered by 24v AC mains supply and attaches in series between the TV aerial and TV receiver aerial input. <IMAGE>

Description

SIGNAL INTERRUPTER This invention relates to a signal interrupter for a television aerial There exists at this time a facility to include bar coding on a television signal , to switch a video on and off to record programs. This facility with the correct equipment could be used for other purposes.
My proposed invention would take the form of a small black box, It would be mounted between the television aerial input and the television aerial. Television signals could carry a bar coding not to start and stop a video but before and after scenes of extreme violence and obscenity . The interrupter would detect the bar coding and interrupt the receiving signal to render the television screen blank.A selecter switch would be fitted for choice of viewing composition. The interrupter would be powered by 24v A C mains supply.
Referring to the drawing the interrupter is in the form of a box attached to the television via the aerial input and powered by 24v AC from the mains.Fitted to the side of the interrupter is a selecter switch comprising of OFF- o = for obscenity V = for violence The television aerial is fitted to the top of the interrupter.
