Folding paper. - In folding- mechanism for printing-presses or the like of the type in which the sheets to be folded are carried on the periphery of a rotary folding-member which alsc carries a rotary tucker blade cooperating with a pair of rotating folding-rollers, an adjustable connection is arranged between the tucker blade and a member immediately associated therewith in the operation of the blade, permitting direct adjustment of the blade relative to the member in order to change its relation to the folding-rollers. Each pair of tucker blades 15, 16, Fig. 7, is carried on a shaft 12 mounted in bearings 13, Fig. 6, on the folding- cylinder 1 and having at one end a fixed disc 20, Figs. 2, 4 and 6, which is rotatable in a recess in a head 21 on the cylinder 1. The disc 20 carries a screw bolt in a lug 28, the top and bottom of the bolt bearing against the sides 30, 31 of a recess in the head 21, so that rotation of the bolt turns the disc 20 round in its recess and so adjusts the angular position of the tucker blades relatively to the head 21, and therefore to the folding-rollers 70, 79. Each head 21 is provided at either end with two pins or rollers 33, Fig. 6, engaged by a slotted cam disc for giving a half revolution to the shaft 12. Fig. 2 shows the arrangement for adjusting one folding- roller 79 to suit the nip of the rollers to the thickness of the sheets. The roller 79 is supported on spring-pressed arms 90 which may be retracted by turning a hand-wheel 108 to interpose wedges 100 between retaining nuts 102 and the ends of fixed cylinders 88.
