Description

STRUCTURE OF PACKAGING FOR A HAND TOOL This invention relates to the structure of packaging of a hand tool, such packaging also being referred to herein as a tag card.
Tag cards particularly for holding a hand tool for commercial presentation are well known.
In supermarkets or retail stores, hand tool products are generally packed in a tag card for presentation so that a consumer can clearly see the quality of a product and easily select a desired one.
Fig. 1 illustrates a hand tool tag card according to the prior art, which is generally comprised of a mounting card, a Y-shaped fastening member and a T-shaped holder member. The Y-shaped fastening member has a plurality of unitary bolts respectively inserted in a plurality of fastening holes on the mounting card to fasten in a plurality of unitary sleeves of the T-shaped holder member. When the hand tool tag card is assembled, it is as shown in the side elevational view of Fig. 3. When a hand tool is secured to the mounting card by the Y-shaped fastening member and the T-shaped holder member, it is as shown in Fig. 2.
One disadvantage of this hand tool tag card is that the Yshaped fastening member and the T-shaped holder member can only be used for holding a specific hand tool. For holding a different hand tool, a different set of Y-shaped fastening member and T-shaped holder member must be used. Another disadvantage of this hand tool tag card is that the engagement of the Y-shaped fastening member with the T-shaped holder member can not be adjusted, i.e. the space defined between the Y-shaped fastening member and the T-shaped holder member is fixed and can not be adjusted according to the thickness of the hand tool to mount. Therefore, this hand tool tag card can not firmly secure a hand tool.
The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is an object of the present invention to provide a hand tool tag card for holding a hand tool for commercial presentation which can be flexibly arranged to secure different size of hand tools.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a hand tool tag card for holding a hand tool for commercial presentation which can firmly secure a hand tool to a card.
To accomplish the above objects, a hand tool tag card for holding a hand tool for presentation in accordance with the present invention comprises a card, a V-shaped fastening member and a V-shaped holder member. The card has three fastening holes triangularly made thereon, and a plurality of auxiliary fastening holes bilaterally equidistantly extending from said fastening holes. The Vshaped fastening member has three unitary, vertical bolts respectively upstanding from the three ends thereof, which vertical bolts have each a plurality of inverted tooth projections on its outer wall surface at different range from its bottom end. The V-shaped holder member has three unitary sleeves which have each an unitary stopping ring projecting from its inner wall surface at the front end.
When in use, the unitary bolts of the V-shaped fastening member are respectively inserted through the fastening holes or auxiliary fastening holes of the card to fasten in the unitary sleeves of the V-shaped holder member so as to secure a hand tool to the card.
In a second embodiment of the present invention, a card is incorporated with a V-shaped holder member to form an unitary piece for matching with a V-shaped fastening member in holding a hand tool.
An embodiment of the present invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in whlich: Fig. 1 is a perspective exploded view of a hand tool tag card according to the prior art; Fig. 2 is a schematic drawing of the hand tool tag card of Fig. 1, in which a pliers is secured thereto; Fig. 3 is a side elevational view of the hand tool tag card of Fig. 1; Fig. 4 is a perspective exploded view of a hand tool tag card according to the present invention; Fig. 4A illustrates an alternate form of the first embodiment of the present invention, in which the auxiliary fastening holes are made to communicate with one another; Fig. 5 is a perspective exploded view of a second embodiment of the present invention;; Fig. 5A illustrates an alternate form of the second embodiment of the present invention, in which the auxiliary fastening holes are made to communicate with one another; Fig. 6 is a sectional schematic drawing, in which one bolt of the V-shaped fastening member is completely inserted in a corresponding sleeve of the V-shaped holder member; Fig. 7 is a schematic drawing, in which the front inverted tooth projection of one bolt of the V-shaped fastening member is engaged with the stopping ring of a corresponding sleeve of the V-shaped holder member.
Fig. 8 is a schematic drawing, illustrating the use of the first embodiment of the present invention to hold a combination cut pliers; Fig. 9 is a schematic drawing, illustrating the use of the first embodiment of the present invention to hold a pliers; and Fig. 10 is a schematic drawing, illustrating the use of the second embodiment of the present invention to hold a combination cut pliers.
Referring to the various drawings attached herewith, a detailed description of the structural features of the structure of hand tool tag card of the present invention is as follows: Turning now to the annexed drawings in greater detail and referring first to Fig. 4, a hand tool tag card in accordance with the present invention is generally comprised of a card 5, a V-shaped holder member 7 and a V-shaped fastening member 6. As illustrated, the card 5 has a mounting hole 50 on its upper part, through which it can be hung on a nail or other supporting object, a plurality of fastening holes 51, 52 and 53, and a plurality of auxiliary fastening holes 52', 52", 53' and 53".The V-shaped fastening member 6 comprises three unitary, vertical bolts 61, 62 and 63 respectively upstanding from the three ends thereof, which vertical bolts 61, 62 and 63 have each a plurality of inverted tooth projections 611, 622 or 633 on its outer wall surface at different range from its bottom end. The V-shaped holder member 7 is designed to match with the V-shaped fastening member 6 and comprises three unitary sleeves 71, 72 and 73 having each an unitary stopping ring 714, 724 or 734 projecting from its inner wall surface.
During assembly, the vertical bolts 61, 62 and 63 of the Vshaped fastening member 6 are respectively inserted through the fastening holes 51, 52 and 53 of the card 5 into the sleeves 71, 72 and 73 of the V-shaped holder member 7 permitting the inverted toothed projections 611, 622 and 633 of the vertical bolts 61, 62 and 63 to be stopped by the stopping rings 714, 724 and 734. Because the inverted tooth projections 611, 622 or 633 of each bolts 61, 62 or 63 are respectively made on the outer wall surface of the bolt 61, 62 or 63 at different range from its bottom end, the range between the V-shaped holder member 7 and the V-shaped fastening member 6 can be flexibly controlled according to the hand tool to mount (see Figs. 6 and 7).
Referring to Fig. 4 again, the fastening holes 51, 52 and 53 are triangularly made on the card and the auxiliary fastening holes 52', 52", 53' and 53" are bilaterally equidistantly extending from the fastening holes 52 and 53 wherein the upper left fastening hole 51 is an elongated hole; the upper right fastening hole 52, the lower fastening hole 53 as well as the auxiliary fastening holes 52', 52", 53' and 53" are of round holes. When a bolt bf the V-shaped fastening member 6 is inserted in the elongated fastening hole 51, it is allowed to move horizontally for position adjustment. When a bolt of the V-shaped fastening member 6 is inserted in either one of the round holes, it becomes confined to move axially. Therefore, the V-shaped fastening member 6 and the V-shaped holder member 7 can be selectively fastened in the fastening holes 51, 52 and 53 or the fastening hole 51 and the auxiliary fastening holes 52' or 52" and 53' or 53 according to the hand tool to mount.
As shown in Fig. 8, a combination cut pliers 8 is mounted on a card 5 and firmly secured thereto by a V-shaped fastening member 6 and a V-shaped holder member 7 (not shown), in which the three bolts 61, 62 and 63 of the fastening member 6 are respectively inserted through the fastening holes 51, 52 and 53 of the card 5. In Fig. 9, a pliers 4 is mounted on a card 5 and firmly secured thereto by a V-shaped fastening member 6 and a V-shaped holder member 7 (not shown), in which the three bolts 61, 62 and 63 of the fastening member 6 are respectively inserted through the upper left fastening hole 51, the upper left auxiliary fastening hole 52' and the lower left auxiliary fastening hole 53'.
As an alternate form of the present invention, the auxiliary fastening holes 52' and 52" or 53' and 53" may be communicated with the fastening hole 52 or 53, as shown in Fig. 4A, and the mounting hole 50 can have a similar structure in which several holes 50, 50' and 50" are made in a line and communicated with one another.
Referring to Fig. 5, therein illustrated is a second embodiment of the present invention, which is generally comprised of a mounting card 7' made through shape molding or injection molding process, a sleeve member 72' and a V-shaped fastening member 6. The structure of the Vshaped fastening member 6 is exactly the same as the aforesaid first embodiment of the present invention. The mounting card 7' includes a front panel 70' having a mounting hole 75, a plurality of fastening holes 74, 74',... etc., an unitary, upper sleeve 71' and an unitary lower sleeve 73'.
In this embodiment, specifications of a product and instructions of use or advertising copy can be printed on the front panel 70' of the mounting card 7'. The mounting process of the present embodiment is similar to the aforesaid first embodiment of the present invention. As an alternate form of this second embodiment of the present invention, the fastening holes 74, 74', ... etc., can be designed in communication with one another. In Fig. 10, a combination cut pliers 8 is mounted on a tag card of the second embodiment of the present invention.
