Abstract
A transistor card reader located under a vehicle instrument panel prevents the completion of the start key switch circuit until a card with the owner's identity encoded is inserted in a reader slot.
Description
TO PREVENT THEFT OF VEHICLES
The invention relates to the prevention of Vehicles being stolen.
A method to imobilize the power of a Vehicle by means of isolating current reaching the starter switch.
A transister assembly packet approximately 75 m/m in length, 62.5 m/m in width and 18 m/m in thickness, having a slot to allow the insertion of a plastic card, this would identify the owner or user of the Vehicle by means of a code number, name, binary numbers in circuit with transisters.
The packet or transister assembly is located under the instrument panel in such a manner that the packet is out of reach, and only visible by the slot necessary for the plastic card to be inserted.
Transisters are used to obtain the maximum number of switches to create as many possible combinations that can be obtained, this with the manipulation, size and shape of the plastic card, would avoid having too many repeats or changes in design to cover the amount of Vehicles produced, and would create a greater obstacle for the would be thief to overcome.
Digital Intergrated Circuits used in line between the Battery and Starter switch, the circuit would remain isolated until the plastic card with its positive identification is inserted, this would complete the circuit and allow current to pass to the starter switch.
According to the present invention the plastic card is inserted into the slot provided, this allows the current to pass to the starter switch. Vehicle can now be started in the usual manner, using the starter key, to stop the engine key is turned to the off position, removal of the plastic card vehicle is now completely imobilized.
Claims (3)
- I claim the use of a transisterised assembly that is energised by the insertion of the positioned identified plastic card will prevent the power from the Battery supplying current to pass to the starter switch. We now have three items 1. Key to enter Vehicle.
- t. Key to start Vehicle.
- 3. Plastic card completely imobilizing the Vehicle.I believe under these circumstances the stealing of a Vehicle would be very difficult, and providing the transister assembly is concealed under the instrument panel, it would be necessary to dismantle the panel to reach theconnection. This would prevent the use of various types of keys to enter a Vehicle when confronted with a further obstacle.
