Abstract

The gun 1 has a handle portion 2, a front portion 4 with a nozzle 5 and an intermediate portion 3. The intermediate portion has a cleanser chamber 8 which contains a cleanser and an expandable envelope 14 for forcing the cleanser out from the chamber 8 so that the cleanser is ejected together with the water during washing operation. The envelope is expanded by water pressure when a valve 10 is opened. The front portion 4 includes a tubular member, adapted to receive a water-soluble waxing material, whose rear side is provided with a removable cap having a tubular joint end 42 to be joined to the intermediate portion 3. When water passes through the tubular member of the front portion, a solution of the waxing material is ejected from the gun. <IMAGE>

Description

COMBINED WAXER AND WATER EJECTING GUN This invention relates to a water ejecting gun particularly to a combined waxer and water ejecting gun having a chamber for receiving a water soluble waxing material.
Water ejecting guns for washing automobiles ana the like are known in the art. Generally, such water ejecting guns produce a strong stream of water so as to achieve an e1c1ert washing e=iect. Some of the water ejecting gns incorporate a means for receiving a cleanser so that a cleanser can be ejected from the gun along with the water when necessary.
An object of the invention is to provide a water ejecting gun which can eject a water soluble waxing material for the purpose of polishing an automobile or the like.
Another object of the invention is to provIde a water ejecting gun, which can be used for washing an automobile or the like, with a supply of a cleanser and also for ejecting out a waxing material for the purposes of polishing.
The present invention provides a combined waxer and water ejecting gun which includes a gun body having a handle portion which has a water inlet, a front portion having an outlet and an intermediate portion intercommunicating the handle portion and the front portion, the front portion including a tubular member adapted to receive a water soluble waxing material, which has a tapered front end provided with a nozzle, and a cap removably provided at a rear end of the tubular member, the cap having a port and a tubular joint portion extending rearward from the port to be joined detachably to the intermediate portion, whereby the cap can be detached from botch the intermediate portion and the tubular member for placing a waxing material in te tubular member.Preferably, the intermeaiate portion of the gun is provided with a cleanser chamber and a unit for forcing the cleanser out of the gun.
The present exemplary preferred embodiment wiil be described in detail with reference to the accompanying, drawings, in which: Fig. I is a perspective view of a combined waxer and water ejecting gun according to the present invention; Fig. 2 is a sectional view of a combined waxer and water ejecting gun of Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 is an exploded view showing the front portion of the gun of Fig. 1.
Referring to the drawings, a combination according to the present invention is shown, including a gun body 1 which has a rear handle portion 2 with a water inlet, a front portion 4 with a nozzle 5 and an intermediate portion 3 intercommunicating the front portion 4 and the handle portion 2.
The handle portion 2 is provided with an adaptor 6 and a valve 7 for connection with a water supply pipe (not shown) . The intermediate portion 3 has a chamber 8 for receiving a cleanser and a water passage 9.
The water passage 9 is in communication with the interior of the handle portion 2 and the front portion. The cleanser chamber 8 is provided with an inlet valve 10 having a tube member 11 in which is provided a hollow plug member 12 with a slanted opening 13 in the wall or the plug member 12. When this plug member 12 is rotated by means of a rotary operating member 12a so as to register the opening 13 with a hole 17 of the inlet tube ember, the valve is opened. A cleanser is put in the chamber 8. The valve 10 is connected with an expandable bag 14 which will expand upon receiving water entering through the valve. The expansion of the bag 1 forces the cleanser to flow out through an outlet valve 15.The outlet valve 15 has a rotary operating member 15a and is of the same construction as the valve 10. The outlet valve 15 is communicated with the water passage 9 through passages 16 so that the cleanser can be mixed with water flowing through the water passage 9.
The front portion 4 of the water eject gun can receive a waxing material 40a and can be detached from the intermediate portion so that the waxing material may be inserted. The front portion 4 includes a tubular member 40 which is provided with a tapered portion having a nozzle 5. At the rear end 43 of the tubular member 40 is a cap 41 which is threadedly connected to the rear end 3 of the tubular member 0.
The cap 41 has an inlet port ( not shown) and a joint portion 42 which can be connected to the intermediate portion 3 of the gun body.
A plate 5 having perforations 6 is positioned adjacent to the tapered portion of the tubular member 0. A chamber is formed between the perforated plate 45 and the cap 41 for receiving a water soluble waxing material. The perforated plate 45 is provided with a central projection 47 which can penetrate the waxing material for positioning purposes.
The joint portion 42 of the cap 1 is tapered and provided with an anular boss 21. A tubular connector 30 is used to interconnect the joint portion 2 and the intermediate portion 3 of the gun. The connector has a rear enlarged portion 31 threadedly sleeved on an end of the intermediate portion. A front portion 32 is provided around the tapered joint portion 42 of the cap 41. The front portion of the connector is removably secured to the joint portion of the cap by means of a locking means 35 so that the cap member 41 can be removed from the intermediate portion of the gun and a waxing material can be inserted into the tubular member 40 by removing the cap therefrom. A baffle member 39 is provided in the connector 30 for regulating the flow of water.
The baffle 39 is not detailed herein, since it does not form any part of the present invention.
The locking means 35 includes a sleeve 36 which is slideably provided around the front portion 32 of the connector 30. The inner side of the wall of the sleeve 36 is provided witn inclined teeth 37 which are spaced apart annularly. Between the wall of the sleeve 36 and the wall of the front portion 32 are locking pins 38 each of which has a portion 381 to extend into the interior of the front portion 32 through an opening oT the wall of the front portion 32. The extending portion 381 of each locking pins 38 is depressed by each tooth 37 to extend into the front portion 32 and engage with a flared surface 421 of the tapered joint portion 42 when the sleeve 36 is moved forward.
In this situation, the tapered joint portion 42 is secured to the connector 30. When the sleeve 36 is moved rearward, the teeth 37 are also moved rearward, releasing the pressure on the portions 381 of the p n 33. As the result, the joint portion 42 can be detached from the connector 30.
Although in this embodiment, the tubular member 40 is connected to the intermediate portion 3 of the gun 1 through the connector 30. another type of connector which can accomplish detachable connection between the tubular member 40 and the intermediate portion 3 can also be used in this invention.
The gun mentioned hereinbefore can be used for either washing or applying a waxing material to an automobile or the like. When a waxing material is inserted into the tubular member and water is let into the gun and passes through the waxing material, the waxing material which is dissolved in the stream of water is forced out of the gun through the nozzle.
With the invention thus explained, it is apparent that numerous modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the invention. It is therefore intended that the invention be limited only as indicated in the appended claims.
