Abstract

A talking electronic apparatus comprises a memory storing question data representing a plurality of questions and answer data representing a plurality of respective answers to the questions; means, including a speech synthesizer, for selecting an item of question data representing a given question from the memory and for converting it into audible human speech; means, including a keyboard, for receiving an answer to the given question entered by a user and for comparing it with the appropriate item of answer data from the memory; and means for indicating audibly to the user that the entered answer is incorrect. The last-named means may cause the question to be repeated or may invite the user to enter a further answer to the question. <IMAGE>
