Abstract

A light coagulator instrument of the ophthalmoscopic type comprising an ophthalmoscope lens (2) an observing optical system (18), a source (8) of coagulation light and a source of illumination light, the instrument including means (3) operable to enable coagulation light generated by the source (8) to be moved in any direction relative to a stationary point of observation. in one embodiment the means comprises a mirror (3) movable about two mutually perpendicular axes. Alternatively, the coagulant light source may itself be movable. <IMAGE>
