Abstract

In a camera which provides a print of a viewed scene, electric signals representing the scene pass to a display device and a signal storage device, e.g. a magnetic tape recorder. When the operator is satisfied with the display, the stored signals are applied to a printer, to which there is fed from a cassette within the camera a sheet of image- receiving material, this sheet being subsequently ejected from the camera. The scene is imaged by a lens (14) through a colour separator (15) on to a charge coupled device (16) from which image- representing signals are applied via an analogue-digital converter (18), a memory (20), and a digital-analogue converter (22) to an electro-optical display device (24) and also to the magnetic tape recorder (26). The display device may be a panel constituting one wall of the camera (10). To make a print of the displayed image, signals are read from the recorder (26) and applied to a printer (28). The printer is preferably of the kind which converts the signals into pressure pulses which cause the transfer of colouring materials from a transfer sheet to the image-receiving sheet. <IMAGE>
