Abstract

The narrower end of a frusto-conical chamber 2 is divided by a circular wall into a central aperture and an annular aperture for communication with two sources of liquids to be emulsified. The flow of the liquids is accelerated through the aperture 4 in order to reduce their pressure to the vapour pressure of one of the liquids to be emulsified, thereby creating a cavitation zone, followed by a progressive increase of the pressure along the chamber 2, until the atmospheric pressure is reached. <IMAGE>
