Abstract

201,459. Taylor, C. W. A. Oct. 20, 1922. Channels in thrust bearings.-The bearing faces of a thrust collar 1 are formed of renewable blocks 5 which are so shaped and spaced as to form radial gutters 3 having inclined walls 4 between which and the end walls 2 of the lubricant-containing housing lubricant is adapted to be wedged. The walls 4 on the two sides of the collar are oppositely inclined. The gutters communicate with an annular gutter 7. The end walls 2 have renewable bearing faces 6 and are formed as detachable segmental covers. The gutters may have both walls inclined.
