Abstract

An equipment is disclosed for the control of the degree of mean dryness of pieces of laundry in a heated drying device 2, preferably in a drum drier, with sensing electrodes (4, 6), which are connected in parallel to an electrical capacitor (7) and against which the pieces of laundry to be dried fall at irregular intervals during the drying process. A charging resistor (23) is connected in series with the capacitor (7) for charging the capacitor. A voltage discriminator circuit (8) is connected to the capacitor (7) and effects the switching-off of the drier heating on the voltage at the capacitor (7) attaining a threshold value. An electrical switch (16) is connected in series with the charging resistor (23). Additional electrodes (4, 5) are arranged apart from the sensing electrodes (4, 6) in the drying device (2) and the switch (16) connects the capacitor (7) to the charging resistor (23) on contact with the laundry to be dried by way of the additional electrodes (4, 5). Alternatively, a switching equipment (not illustrated) delivering a signal on the detection of current flow by way of the sensing electrodes (6, 4) is provided in place of the additional electrodes (5, 4) to control the switch (16). <IMAGE>
