Abstract

An alarm system comprises a plurality of stations each including alarm devices 7 and 11-16, alarm condition release means 8, a current supply 10 chargeable from the mains 9 an HF transmitter 17 which, in response to operation of the release means 8, transmits a signal over the mains 9, and an HF receiver 18 tuned to the common carrier frequency of the transmitters, whereby when the release means 8 of one station is operated the alarm devices 7, and 11-16 of all the other stations are operated. Each transmitter 17 transmits a respective coded signal such that the appropriate lamp 11-16 in each station is lit up to identify the alarm producing station. The acoustic alarm device 7 of the alarm producing station is inhibited. <IMAGE>
