Abstract
The device has an electrical starter 17 which is automatically switched off on reaching a preset maximum engine speed. The device includes a speed controller 3 having a control mechanism 4 and change- over means 8 and a correcting element 2 fed by the control mechanism 4 for controlling the mixture fed to the engine. Actual and desired value vehicle speed sources 11, 13 and actual and desired value engine idling speed sources 14, 16 are connectable to the control mechanism 4 through the change- over means 8. On starting the engine the change-over means 8 supplies to the control mechanism 4 information relating to the idling speed conditions. The correcting element 2 is automatically controlled according to engine conditions. As shown, the correcting element 2 controls a throttle valve 1. Preferably, the correcting element is adjusted as a function of engine temperature prior to starting the engine. <IMAGE>
