Abstract

A flame failure detection system based on flame ionisation comprising an electrically conducting burner casing 1, first and second electrodes 2, 4 insulated from each other and located in use in a burner flame, and defining a flame sensing circuit in which said second electrode is arranged to collect the small electrical current which flows between said electrodes in the presence of a flame. <IMAGE>
