Abstract

A measuring level comprises a body 10 and means for indicating the angle or gradient relative to the horizontal or the vertical of a member on or against which the body of the level is placed. In one arrangement, a drum 13 weighted at 17 and carrying graduations is freely rotatable behind a transparent cover 18 with reference lines 24, 25. In another, a fixed drum is half filled with coloured liquid which indicates the inclination against graduations on a transparent face. Alternatively, liquid half filling an annular channel operates in a similar manner. A manually settable pointer may be provided. <IMAGE>
