Abstract

199,441. Edge, S. F. March 16, 1922. Feeding-appliances for animals.-In devices of the kind in which a container for the food has troughs attached to it and supplies them through holes, flow of the food is facilitated by rigidity securing the trough to the receptacle and by mounting the whole device movably so that it may be moved by the animals while feeding or while pressing against it. The container 10 communicating with troughs 12 through holes 13, may be mounted on rockers 11 and have its movement controlled by springs 15 fixed to posts 17, the troughs being made of such height that the animals must place their feet on the edge while feeding. In a modification, the container may be pivoted and have springs 20 arranged below it, and an additional board may be provided for the animals feet to save wear on the edge of the trough.
