20,385. Mateer, A. Oct. 1. Maps.-Slits x are cut from all four sides of a map as shown in Fig. 5. The map can be folded as shown in Fig. 2, and can then be again folded about the central line y. When in the state shown in Fig. 2, any one of the portions A, B, C, D can be spread out without unfolding the others. Two maps may be connected by a binding q attached along the central folds y as shown in Fig. 6. With this arrangement, by unfolding it and turning it backwards, the outer portion of one section such as B can be brought into juxtaposition with the corresponding portion of the second map.
