Abstract

21,357. Franklin, W. H. Sept. 22. Bottles, non-refillable.-A liquid-outlet 5, Fig. 1, and an air-inlet 16 are both controlled by a flanged float-valve 9 pressed on to its seat by a light .spring 10. The valve is carried in a tube 8 slotted to communicate with a liquid-passage 7 and an air-passage 15. The valve is protected by a dished baffle 31. The valve apparatus and air-tube are carried in a casing attached by a capsule to the bottle neck. The air-passage and liquid-outlet are continued upwards by passages 11, 4, respectively, which may be closed by a rotary valve 12 provided with similar passages. In a modification, a float valve 9, Fig. 11, is housed in a tube 5, Fig. 17, communicating with passages 29, 20, &c. as shown, alternate passages serving as liquid-outlets and airinlets, respectively.
