Rectal a p p l i a n c e s; suppositories. - An appliance f o r treating hµmorrhoids consists of a wad a of wool, tow, &c. formed with a hollow core b of cartridge paper &c., or with unlined perforations, or with grooves on the outside so as to permit the passage of flatus. The wad may be impregnated with unguent or otherwise medicated.
