Abstract

Cutting slices in succession. - Meatsliciog machines of the kind described in Specification 19,872/08 are arranged so that the feed-operating link is in tension during the feed movement, and operates the feed pawl through the toothed gearing. The machine comprises a rotary disk knife 10, a reciprocating table 6 driven by a crank 7 and rod 8, and a meat-slide fed intermittently towards the knife by a screw 17. A bent lever 11 pivoted beneath the table 6 acts in conjunction with a bowl on the rod 8 to give a reciprocating motion to a link 14, which is jointed to a lever 15 carrying a toothed sector 16. A pinion 19 engaged by this sector is secured to an arm 20 carrying the feed pawl 21 for engaging a ratchet-wheel on the feed-screw, which is rotated as the link 14 is moved to the left. The lever 11 is kept in engagement with the bowl 8 by a spring 26 ; or a second bowl may be arranged to engage the other side of the lever.
