Abstract

22,224. Siemens Bros. & Co., [Siemens & Halske Akt.-Ges.]. Sept. 24. Phase - differences, measuring.-To indicate the presence and direction of equalizing-currents in a number of alternators, the primary winding of a current-transformer T<1>, Fig. 1, is connected between one phase of each alternator and a bus-bar, each secondary winding being connected through one winding of a phase-difference indicator P<1>, to a junction-bar S<a2>, from which the resultant current passes to a bar r<2>, and through the other winding of each instrument to a common return bar v<1>. The bars S<a2>, v<2> and S<a1>, vl may be united to form two single bars. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 3, the windings w<2> are in series with the secondary winding s<4> of a transformer connected with the transformer T'. The phase-difference in two groups of alternators may be tested by connecting separately each winding of a phasedifference indicator in series with the windings w<2> of each group. Current meters.-Instruments may be inserted as shown in Fig. 1, to measure separately the output of each alternator. The total output may be measured by instruments inserted in the leads l<1>, l<2>, Fig. 1, or in the circuit of the coil S<4>, Fig. 3.
