Invalids' bedsteads.-An invalid's bedstead is provided with independent horizontal and vertical adjustments, and comprises a frame x situated above the mattress frame f and supported by links j carried by a frame k sliding in the stationary frame a, and fitted at the outer end with wheeled legs i. One pair of links are fitted with segments of worm-wheels p adapted to engage worms q rotated by bevel-gear s. The sliding frame k has racks u engaging a pinion t. The head end of the bed is furnished with a folding adjustable reclining board c, and with a pair of folding trays arranged to slope downwards and outwards. The movable frame is fitted with a movable perforated plate to support the pillow, and with sheets m strained across the frame by rods o and hinged arms n.
