Delivery of articles stored in piles.-The bottom article of a pile 17 of tins of boot polish, or packets of cigarettes or sweetmeats, is delivered by a sliding plate 15 having an ejector piece 15a, the plate being carried by a lateral extension of a slide 13. The slide 13 is locked by three levers 8, the forward ends of which have stops 11 engaging the front of the slide 13. The front 35<a> of the plate 15 is hinged at 35 and, when the plate is pulled out, rests against an inclined part of the casing. Coin action, weight and multiple-coin; coindischarging mechanism.-The machine is freed by two pennies and a halfpenny, which are inserted through two slots and fall down shoots 29 on to the rear ends of the levers 8. The levers are tilted to disengage the stops 11, and when the plate 15 is pulled out the rear end of slide 13 moves from under the rear ends of the levers 8, which become further depressed and discharge the coins to a money drawer 2. A three-armed switch piece in the penny shoot directs the pennies to their respective levers. Two or more levers may be connected temporarily by a spindle 38, Fig. 3, so that they may rock together and be actuated by a single coin. A lever may also be rendered temporarily inoperative by a loose. piece of metal 36, Fig. 7<A>, inserted through an aperture in the money shoot. The ends of the shoots are disposed at such a distance above the ends of the locking-levers that the coins are held in position until the slide 13 is moved. Levers 23 pivoted to the ends of the shoots are rocked by the coins to cause their upper ends to enter the shoots and divert to the drawer 2 any further coins inserted before the machine is actuated.
