Abstract

157,259. Habermann, A. July 27, 1917, [Convention date]. Limbs, artificial.-An artificial leg D is fitted with a foot comprising a separate fore part A and a spring-mounted heel B. A lever C pivoted to the leg is attached at C' to the heel B, and is formed at the other end as a spindle C<2> extending into the fore part A of the foot, so that the latter may have a lateral rocking movement. A rubber cushion E or a spring may be mounted between the leg and the fore part of the foot. A rod K pivoted to the lever C extends through an abutment disc H in a recess in the leg, and is surrounded at its lower part by a spring F and at its upper part by a rubber cushion G or by a spring. A rod L embraces the fulcrum of the lever C, and is adjustable so as to take up wear.
