Abstract

154,130. Hornby, r. April 28, 1920. Frames and supports; motors, controlling.-An electric motor 20 for use with constructional toys and mounted between side plates 10, 11 is provided with switch mechanism mounted upon a sheet 31 of insulating-material carried by one of the side plates. The motor is provided with two field windings wound in opposite directions and connected together at one end, the other ends being connected to the contacts 34, 35 respectively. An arm 38 of insulating-material carries a contact strip 41 adapted to engage with either of the contacts 34, 35. The arm 38 is held in either position or in a midway position by friction with a strap 47. The insulating-sheet 31 also carries brushes which engage with a disk commutator and are connected one to the terminal 29 and the other to the strip 41. The other terminal 30 is connected to the common field winding connexion. Specification 4564/15 is referred to.
