Abstract

153,110. Robertson, G. Aug. 7, 1919. Letter-boxes. - A postal pillar is surrounded by a rotatable casing carrying advertisements illuminated by lamps 21. The casing may be in two parts separated by an intermediate rotatable section 14 fitted with a letter shoot 16 and attachable by fastenings to the inner pillar or the outer casing. Inwardly curved stays 4 connect the upper and lower inner parts 1, 2 of the pillar. The top of the pillar carries a lamp which displays the number of the pillar. A gutter round the top collects rain-water which may flow away by pipes 7. The inner portion of the pillar, forming the letter receptacle, may be fixed to the outer casing and rotate therewith, or it may rotate independently and in the opposite direction. Electric, hand, wind, or other power may be used.
