Abstract
1510918 Electrical connectors SIEMENS AG 12 Nov 1976 [28 Jan 1976] 47127/76 Heading H2E A connection component for distribution networks in telecommunication systems is formed from an electrically conductive strip of uniform thickness and has at one end two wire clamping slots 11, 12 and at the other end a resilient electrical contact member 3. Two overlapping parallel elongate bifurcated strip portions 6, 7 are situated at said one end, one portion 7 having a tongue 8 which extends into the plane of the other portion 6 so as to define the slots 11, 12 between the sides of the tongue 8 and the bifurcations of the portion 6, Fig. 2, or portion 7, Fig. 4, being formed at its other end with the resilient contact member 3. As described, the slots are terminated by projections 15, the edges of the slots cutting into the insulation of the wire entering at apertures 13 to effect electrical connection. The component is secured to a carrier at a stepped zone 16. The contact member 3 is at an angle to the remainder of portion 6 and is slotted at its free end, being provided in a partially silvered zone with cross-contacts 4, 5 which act with the cross-contacts of a similar component. In the Fig. 4 embodiment, portion 7 may be extended past contact portion 3 to form strip 18 which has an angled end 19 and a pressedout zone 20 enabling plugs, surge diverters or diodes to be connected thereto behind portion 3 without additional fixing means. In a modification, the portions 3, 18 may be reversed and portion 18 may be provided with a raised contact zone or with a hole.
