Abstract

1499320 Selective tape cassette players A W BUTLER 2 March 1976 [3 Dec 1974] 52157/74 Heading G5R Apparatus for reproducing a selected one of a number of tape cassettes 3 includes a reproducing station 1 positioned within an annular, rotary cassette magazine 2; the arrangement being such that magazine 2 is rotated about its axis 9 by a motor 12 to the selected position, determined by studs 17 on the magazine which successively engage a switch 18, whereupon a stop 31 is engaged between a pair of the studs 17 to lock the magazine and a loader 36-39 is actuated to move the selected cassette inwardly to the reproducing station 1. Suitably disposed limit switches 32, 34; 42 and the switch 18 are incorporated into control circuitry Fig. 2 (not shown) for providing automatically the sequence of operations required to select a cassette. The magazine 2 is supported on wheels 6 and driving wheel 14, and on bearings 10, and has guides 4, 5 for each cassette which are partly flexible and must be moved apart to insert or withdraw a cassette vertically.
