Abstract

1497577 Laminates IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 11 June 1976 [11 June 1975] 25011/75 Heading B5N [Also in Divisions B2 and C3] Multilayer heat-sealable products comprising a C 2-6 α-olefin polymer substrate film having bonded to at least one face thereof a film of a composition comprising (1) copolymer of 95-99À75% propylene with ethylene and (2) 41-90% of a C 4-10 α-olefin homopolymer or copolymer with up to 10% of a C 2-10 α-olefin, may be prepared by bonding preformed films with an adhesive or by co-extruding the substrate polymer and composition. The laminate or substrate polymer film may be biaxially stretched and heat set. In examples propylene/ ethylene copolymer/polybutene-1 blends and polypropylene are co-extruded to form polypropylene film having a film of the composition on both sides.
