Abstract
1451019 Electrophonic musical instument MOTOROLA Inc 2 Sept 1974 [4 Sept 1973] 38296/74 Heading G5J Two substantially similar oscillators 50, 70 are connected through a resistor 90 which synchronises the second to a multiple of the first frequency which is a sub-audio vibrato frequency, e.g. 6Hz. The combining circuit 100 comprising resistors 92, 94, 96 combines the signals to produce a low frequency, non- sinusoidal vibrato signal which is applied to the bases of transistors 16, 18 in the master oscillator 10, thereby periodically varying the capacitance of these transistors and modulating the master frequency. The position of the switch 40 in oscillator 10 determines whether the master frequency is to be governed by the crystal 38 (switch as shown) or by the capacitor 32. Each pair of transistors 12, 14 &c. may be replaced by a single transistor or the system may be fabricated using an integrated circuit having four dual input gates.
