Abstract

1443766 Selective signalling ROBERTSHAW CONTROLS CO 11 Dec 1973 [12 Dec 1972] 57395/73 Heading G4H In a supervisory control system, a central station can address a plurality of field points at each of a plurality of remote stations using messages in bi-phase code, each remote station passing the message bits to a decoder via gating means enabled by bit window pulses generated with a delay of substantially one bit time from each bit signal. As disclosed, messages sent in each direction between the central station and remote stations are in biphase code using positive-going and negative-going transitions for the two bit valves respectively. Each message consists of a sync. portion followed by two identical words, each word having address and function portions. The receiving station recognizes the sync. code and causes each bit to produce a window pulse to gate the next bit, failure to find this next bit causing reset. The two words are compared, with resetting if unequal. Assuming no such resetting, the central station thus selects remote stations in turn and selects inputs/outputs and monitors/ controls them. Monitored states/values are sent to the central station as above. The central station address starts with a 1, whereas each remote station address starts with a 0.
