Abstract

1438295 Electrical teaching device BRITISH STEEL CORP 11 Oct 1973 [11 Oct 1972] 46918/72 Heading G5G A teaching machine comprises a display panel divided into a number of sections 12 each provided with a lamp 13, a number of sets of switches, each set including a single pole switch 11 and an associated double-pole push button switch 18, which can operate circuits to energize corresponding lamps 13, and a scrambling device, e.g. a printed circuit (Pr) Fig. 5 (not shown), included in the circuit containing the switches so that the switches are programmed in a particular operating sequence, which sequence can be changed by changing the scrambling device. Thus a student or trainee is given a series of questions associated with a particular printed circuit, and the relevant sections 12 of the display are illuminated one by one only as the correct switches are operated in the correct sequence determined by that printed circuit. The machine of the invention also includes a device which records the time taken to deal with the questions and which also records the number of switches operated.
