1435711 Cigarette papers; filters CARRERAS ROTHMANS Ltd 24 May 1973 [4 April 1972] 15437/72 Heading A2C [Also in Division D1] A smoking product is made by a method which includes applying to the surface of a material e.g. cellulose acetate filter tow, paper used for wrapping or filling filters or reconstituted tobacco, a metered quantity of a solution or emulsion of an additive e.g. a flavouring or colouring agent, from the surface of a rotating roller (see Division D1). The surface treated material may be passed directly to a cigarette and/or filter making machine. The additive solution may be an organic solvent or aqueous solution or an aqueous emulsion. Examples relate to the application of spearmint and Virginia tobacco flavourings to plasticised cellulose acetate filter tows.
