Abstract

1418046 Valves EWARTS Ltd 12 June 1974 [15 May 1973] 23196/73 Heading F2V A gas tap has an axially movable plunger 30 for controlling flow between an inlet 46 and an outlet 18, the plunger having a reduced diameter portion 32 slidable in the outlet 18 and formed with a tapered nose 34 and radial bores 40 which communicate with an axial bore 42 and open at the surface of the portion 32 between the 0-ring seals 36, 38. The plunger is moved axially by a pin 66 sliding in an axial slot 70 in the housing and a cam slot 68 in a rotatable sleeve 60. The bores 40, 42 may be replaced by an axial groove along the tapered nose, 0-ring seal 38 being dispensed with.
