Abstract
1400087 Coating steel with aluminium; steel INLAND STEEL CO 28 Nov 1972 [7 Dec 1971] 54965/72 Headings C7A and C7F A steel substrate, e.g. strip or sheet which is to be coated with aluminium by e.g. the Sendzimir hot-dipping process is provided with Ti which is sufficient to precipitate all the carbon as TiC and provide an excess of between 0.1 and 0.3 wt per cent. The Al may contain up to 11% Si. The steel may be (wt per cent) C0.05, Mn 0.30 to 0.50, S 0.030, P 0.02, Si 0.002, Al 0 to 0.09, Ti 0.25 to 0.45, Fe balance.
