Abstract

1395985 Fracturing formations DOW CHEMICAL CO 28 April 1972 19930/72 Addition to 1355080 Heading E1F A modification of the process of Specification 1355080 comprises fracturing a subterranean formation penetrated by a well-bore by mixing with an organic liquid a dialiphaticsubstituted orthophosphoric acid ester, wherein the aliphatic radicals are C 1 to C 20 alkyls or C 2 to C 20 alkenyls or alkynyls, and an aluminium compound which reacts with the ester in situ in the organic liquid to provide the aluminium salt of the ester in an amount of from 100 to 400 pounds per thousand US gallons of the organic liquid and injecting the gelled organic liquid into the formation at sufficient pressure to fracture the formation.
