Abstract

1383240 Circular knitting machines; stockings G RUMI and A RUMI [trading as FRATELLI RUMI SNC] 9 March 1972 [29 March 1971] 11072/72 Headings D1C and D1K A circular knitting machine for manufacturing knitted footwear having a transfer stitch -pattern comprises a needle cylinder 1, a rotatable support body 16, 18 mounted eccentrically above the needle cylinder and defining therewith a loop transfer zone, transfer elements 6, 7 slidable generally radially in the support body and having hooked loop engaging ends and means to operate the transfer elements and needles 3 to move a loop from one needle to another by relative movement between the needls and transfer elements due rotation and the eccentricity of the support body. The knitting needles of the machine are operated by jacks 5 acting through further jacks 4 and are selected by means of a pin drum 11 acting through a stack of selectors 10, the jacks 5 being provided with frangible butts 8.
