Abstract
1372054 False bottomed container DRG PACKAGING Ltd 15 Dec 1971 [6 Jan 1971] 635/71 Heading B8P A false bottom for a tray, box or package comprises an inner floor panel 22 provided with integral upstanding side panels 24, 26 and spacers 34 cut from the panel 22 and forming depending extensions of the side panels 24, 26. The false bottom seats within an outer container comprising upwardly convergent walls 14, 16 and base 12. Adjacent side panels 24, 26 and walls 14, 16 are secured together by respective strips of sheet material 36, 18. The side panels 24, 26 may project above the walls 14, 16 so that a flanged lid (Fig. 3) may seat therearound upon the walls 14, 16. An outer layer of paper may be adhered to the base 12, walls 14, 16 and side panels 24, 26 to secure the bottom and container together, a hole 38 and the holes resulting from spacer cuts 32 facilitating machine application of the layer. An insert is placed on the panel 22 to support the contents. A loop of cardboard strip may support the floor panel 22. Th bottom and container may each be formed from a cardboard blank (20, 10, Fig. 1).
