Abstract

1371244 Devices for sucking up waste yarn HOWORTH AIR CONDITIONING Ltd 6 Dec 1972 [9 Dec 1971] 57162/71 Headings DID and D1J In an apparatus for processing continuous yarn a suction tube 6 runs adjacent the yarns and is of substantially one inch diameter provided with holes 13 of substantially 0.50 inches diameter. The holes are provided with covers formed by slidable resilient sleeves. Suction is provided by a multi-stage fan whose characteristics are substantially 80 " W.G. at zero flowrate and substantially 400 cubic feet per minute at zero flowrate. An additional pipe 11 may be provided at yarn processing stations to exhaust fumes from yarn heaters 4. A typical tube 6 is forty feet long and has holes at nine inch spacings. The sleeves 14 may be of synthetic rubber.
