Abstract

1354123 Sheet forming; seaming non-metallic sheet material INDUCTION HEATING EQUIPMENT Ltd 27 April 1972 [30 April 1971] 12425/71 Headings B5A and B5K [Also in Division D1] An apparatus for the manufacture of reinforced plastics linings, e.g. for the roofs of motor cars, comprises a clamp 2, 3 for holding the end of a web 1 of material, a series of spaced supports 4, 5, 6, and a series of spaced formers 8, 9, 10, 11 arranged to pass downwards between the supports to form loops in the web 1, each former being adapted to hold a listing rail 14, e.g. by magnets 13, Fig. 2, not shown, and to release it into the corresponding loop to be welded in position by electrodes 21. The electrodes are moved together to trap the listing rails in the loops by hydraulic rams 22. The ends of the loops are cut by cutters 15, 16, 17, 18, Fig. 4, not shown, to expose the ends of the rails 14.
