Abstract
1341839 Television THORN ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 22 Sept 1971 [9 Oct 1970] 48201/70 Heading H4F A circuit as shown in Fig. 3, is used in a monochrome or colour television receiver to add blanking pulses applied at 3<SP>1</SP> to a black level stabilized luminance signal applied at 1, the output being at 2<SP>1</SP>. Each pulse applied at 3<SP>1</SP> causes transistor Tr2 to conduct, thus reducing the potential at 4<SP>1</SP> and so reducing the potential at the output 2<SP>1</SP> during the blanking interval. The circuit is included before the final receiver amplification stages. Only one of the capacitors C E , C O is normally included, or both capacitors may be omitted and only two diodes w 1 , w 2 used (Fig. 1, not shown), but the inclusion of one of the capacitors is stated to improve the temperature stability of the circuits.
