Abstract

1338083 Petrol dispensing system K N RUDD 29 July 1971 [30 July 1970 and 2 Feb 1971] 37029/70 and 3719/71 Heading A4T A petrol dispense system comprises an electrically-operated petrol dispenser or pump 1 Fig.1, counter means, e.g. signal or pulse sender 2, counting the total volume dispensed or the total time of dispenser or pump operation during a plurality of individual dispensing operations, and means responsive when the total reaches a predetermined magnitude, to allocate a bonus to a customer receiving or about to receive petrol at that moment. Sender 2 on the pump actuates relay 4 on a device 3 dispensing e.g tokens, stamps or coins at each dispenser operation and two electrical timers may be provided, one giving a large bonus and the other a "Jackpot" bonus, with electrical circuitry providing light or sound signals indicating such bonus has been allocated. The signals from the sender may be derived from the pump control console 5; the device 3 may be coupled to a gallons selector 6, Fig.2 on the pump through a rotary selector switch 7 which turns with the selector to dispense tokens, or directly to the pump flowmeter 8. The device is reset on completion of delivery.
