Abstract

1334002 Air filter D A G MARSHALL 4 May 1972 [4 May 1971] 13065/71 Heading BIT An air filter comprising a web 10 of filter medium, which may be paper, polyurethane foam, woven fabric or glass or nylon felt, whose periphery is embedded in a frame 12 of polystyrene foam is made by filling a frame mould with foamed polystyrene beads and heating it with web 10 embedded therein, to expand and sinter the beads and bond them to web 10 without additional adhesive. Web 10 could be reinforced by perforated or expanded metal sheet(s) and may be pleated.
