Abstract
1319846 Coated glass foil KALLE AG 4 Nov 1970 [6 Nov 1969] 52471/70 Heading B2E [Also in Divisions B5 and F2] A flexible composite material consists of a glass foil ranging in thickness from 4 to 200Ám coated on one or both surfaces with plastics material of thickness from 2 to 200Ám. When both surfaces of the glass foil are covered with plastics material both plastics layers may be of the same thickness and of the same material. The plastics material may be of polyolefin, e.g. low pressure polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, polyamide, polyvinylidene chloride, regenerated cellulose, cellulose acetates, polystyrene or mixtures or copolymers thereof. The plastics material may be applied to the glass foil by extrusion coating or by coating from a dispersion or solution and the resulting composite material solidified. The composite material may be subjected to a heating treatment to thermostabilize the plastics material or permanently deformed under the action of heat. The composite material which may be transparent may be used for packaging, cartography or printing plates.
