Abstract

1301779 Transferring processes MAGIC PRINT Ltd 13 Aug 1971 38205/71 Heading B6C In a method of transferring indicia I printed on paper S to a member B an intermediary member LR comprising a release layer R and a tacky adhesive layer L is used in such a fashion that the indicia I are transferred to the layer L from which they are transferred to the member B. The paper S is removed from the first stage of the process by soaking it in a water bath and the final product is obtained by peeling the release layer R from the now imaged member B. The member B may be of a porous nature, such as hardboard, or of a hard substance such as glass. A fixative may be sprayed or painted over the imaged surface of the member B. In an alternative method the indicia I are transferred to the member B through the application of heat.
