Abstract

1299740 Rocking chair VONO Ltd 9 Sept 1970 [5 Aug 1969] 39112/69 Headings A4J and A4U A chair comprises a base 11, Fig.1 (not shown) and a seat mounted for rocking movement relative to the base by a pair of inverted L-shaped brackets 30 secured to the underside of the seat and an inverted T-shaped bar 27 the centre of which is secured to a spindle 16 rotatably mounted about a vertical axis in the base, there being disposed between the flanges 31 of the bracket and the trunk 28 of the bar resilient pads 29 e.g. of rubber or synthetic plastics material. The brackets are secured through a fixing plate (34) Fig.3 (not shown) to the underside of the seat by bolts or rivets, the bolts securing one of the brackets to the seat passing through a slot (35) in the plate (34) which allows for the compression of the pads to be adjusted.
